One of our frequent collaborating photographers, Stephan Ach, has been making cultural headlines in the Mexican press thanks to a new exhibition of his art work at Zona Maco in Mexico City, Latin America’s most important contemporary art fair.
Though Stephan is largely known for his experience and trajectory as a fashion photographer, his studies in cinematography and more personal ambitions have led him to develop a growing artistic portfolio that has featured in a number of art fairs, including a joint inaugural installation with popular fashion photographer Enrique Badulescu at Miami’s Art Basel last year.
His art work for Zona Maco 2014, titled Visible Calm, will be on show at the Galeria Myto from the 5-9 February and consist of six large-format photographs taken in the lush lagoons near Puerto Escondido in Oaxaca, Mexico, and which capture nature in its purest state, evoking what he refers to as «the magic of life.»
